LiFe -> dEaTh -> l I f E -> DeAtH ...........
recently, Peter Boyle, a supporting actor on one of my fav tv shows, Everybody Loves Raymond, died. he was around 71, i think. then 2 days ago, i my aunt called and said her mother died and the funeral is friday. i think she was maybe 80-something years old.
i think whenever someone dies, you suddenly realize that
YOU
will also die someday, too.
it's just not your turn yet.
of course, like any1 else, i fear death.
but when u try to think of it in these ways, it's not so bad....
-we're born, we live....we die. it's the
cycle of life. that's that. everyone goes through it. why fight it?
-as long as u live life fully (or to the best of your ability, anyway), that means
you've led a meaningful life.
-if you R able to accomplish certain things that changes the world for the better of improves it in some way, or you manage to help a lot a lot of ppl, GOOD FOR YOU. you have helped the planet/a lot of ppl, and you will leave a legacy of your work behind for future generations to admire. or at least people living within 10 years after your death....that's pretty good too...haha.
my goal is the last thing on my list.
i hope be4 i die, i can do some great things for the world, or at least some great things for some people, which will still be very meaningful and good....

the Water Cube (The National Aquatic Center) for the Beijing Olympics 2008
this building looks MAD COOL! ~_~
wish i could go see the Beijing Olympics 2008! >__<
-------- http://www.shanghaidaily.com/art/2006/12/07/299193/__039_Water_Cube__039__debuts_in_Beijing__85__done.htm (The National Aquatic Center, also known as the Water Cube, is 85 percent complete. The stadium, covered by over 3,000 air cells, looks like a big blue cube. It's scheduled to host swimming and diving events during the Beijing Olympics 2008.)
WATER Cube, a major sports venue for the Beijing Olympics 2008, is now 85 percent complete, and was open to media this morning, Xinhua News Agency said.
The stadium, to host swimming and diving events, is scheduled to be fully complete by end of the year, said an official with the organizing committee of the Beijing Olympics during a press conference this morning.
The National Aquatic Center, more widely known as the Water Cube, is a joint design of China State Construction and an architecture company from Australia.
The 2.4 billion cubic meter stadium has more than 3,000 air cells, which each use double film technology to ensure the indoor temperature, brightness and sound quality, said Wu Jingjun, an engineer from the project.
The stadium will be put into use next October, the report said.
The National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, which is to host the opening and closing ceremonies of the games, has a completed main structure and is also undergoing exterior "beautifications," the official said.
Construction of another 45 sports venues and service facilities for the Beijing Olympics are underway, including 25 match halls, 15 training venues and five service facilities.
Meanwhile, a baseball field in the city's Fengtai District and a track field in Chaoyang District have been upgraded and are open to the public.
The official said several indoor stadiums on local university campuses, which are planned to hold minor events during the Games, are expected to be put into use before schedule.
The 42 residential buildings, which are divided into four areas --- A, B, C and D, in the Olympic Village will have completed structures by end of the year, along with 16 residences for journalist.
Workers have dug out an area to create a hill and a lake in the Olympic Forest Park. "They are now gardening and arranging water pipes," said the official.
Beijing has planned 62 news roads and four bridges to increase the city's transport capability during the Games period. Now, 20 roads and two bridges have been constructed and can be put into use soon.

-video games
-COMPUTER or internet
-microwave
-washing machine/dryer
-LIGHTS
-air conditioner

i'm SO happy that i live in a time where we have electricity and all these modern conveniences to entertain/help us see/help us do housework/help us communicate!!

searching for the unicorn
[above is the animation i made using some of my fav parts from the MV.]
i really love this MV, which is why a lot of the times, i use a screencap of Fi (Fiona) holding the balloons as my avatar. cuz i like to think of the song as talking about the things we search for in life...not necessarily love, but other important things...
we search for meaning in our lives, for truth, for success, for friends, for answers....
and to be able to search bravely for these no matter what ppl say is a very good path to follow.
Fi herself, is a good example. i like how she is different from the other young singers....she's very artistic and quirky, i like her style! ~_~
here R the translated to english lyrics, thanks to 61er for translating!!
In the big snow storm Can ask the fire dragon to dance along
But there is not a way To be with him during the summer
I believe somewhere he will be there I believe imagination creates myth
Who says this world doesn't him I believe in making myths from my two hands
Along the water fall Taking a walk with the spirits
I believe somewhere he will be there I believe imagination creates myth
Who says this world doesn't have him I believe in making myths from my two hands

Searching For the Unicorn - Fiona Sit
The big bird on the tree Is talking to the Wind God
The big monster on the ground Is living under the talking flowers
Monsters Are all out In the danger In search of him
I also Join in Search for the white horse In my heart
The big bird on the tree Is talking to the Wind God
The big monster on the ground Is living under the talking flowers
Monsters Are all out In the danger In search of him
I also Join in Search for the white horse In my heart
In the big snow storm Can ask the fire dragon to dance along
But there is not a way To be with him during the summer
The most weird Ones Still wants to Find a home
Only myself Alone Go into heaven Still scared
Only myself Alone Go into heaven Still scared
I believe somewhere he will be there I believe imagination creates myth
I will find the unicorn
Only need to make a few trips Before seeing him
Who says this world doesn't him I believe in making myths from my two hands
At the end I will be very happy Though the path is full of wind and storm
Mermaids will be singing Don't be scared
Along the water fall Taking a walk with the spirits
Inch by inch To count The amount of paths taken
Where will I Bump into him Don't need the River child to tell me
The truth Can be more grey I can still imagine I'm not old
I believe somewhere he will be there I believe imagination creates myth
I will find the unicorn
Only need to make a few trips Before seeing him
Who says this world doesn't have him I believe in making myths from my two hands
And at the end I will be very happy Returning home with my most beloved
Telling stories by the bed Never scared

my fav tvb series right now: Welcome to the House!
i know a lot of ppl think it's silly and not as great as VOH, but it can be very funny when it's funny. haha. and i really love raymond cho's, johnson lee's, and kingdom yuen's character. and it's always nice 2 see series with a family that gets along so well. even if it usually makes u wish your family members were more quirky (in a GOOD way) and fun to hang out with. =P
here's the link to the official website of this series:

one of my fav songs ever: themesong of Night Journey (great series, too!)
i had a crush on Daniel Chan after watching this series. lol! not anymore, but i remember this was a pretty cool series...with all the vampire catching....and it was funny!
and this is maybe the only themesong EVER that i can start singing anytime, it's imprinted in my BRAIN. and it's been since 1996!!
i used 2 listen to it sooooo many times...i dunno why, it is just very catchy and a nice song, for me. hahahaha.
http://hkadb.net/info/Night_Journey
[here's a link to the description of the series and u can download the main and sub themesongs there, too!]
in case u don't understand canto, like me, this is what the lyrics mean! thanks to 61er for translating it 4 me!!
Starting Today - sung by Daniel Chan
Seen, bump into Somtime just walk by
Feelings drops and bump into love switches and hides
Looking far look close Can't tell it was you
Not happy to go to love will make heart lock inside out
* Hot summer day Suddenly automn wind blow
Quiet lonely Breaking the silent in the night
How, How Are you quietly waiting for me
Finally I realize I have changed Quiet down I use to love to talk to about my pain
Finally I realize I'm really similar to you Each goes forward on love road Too much mistake
Repeat *
Starting today Come let me hug you Starting today Sing for this life
Starting today Try to let go everything tomorrow I love you more
Repeat *
Loved, hurt Treasure you and I more Use to always yell at sky, why choose me
Finally I realize I am deeply in love with you There's nothing more important Why scare to sacrfice myself
Repeat *

Ellen is sooooooooo funny!!!
[this image is actually of Ellen at Jay Leno's show on Nov. 8]
i watched an episode of Ellen's talk show and an old episode of her old sitcom. soooo funny! she can always make me laugh!! =P
it was funny how the episode was about her cousin Spencer having to take part in a mock trial, and Ellen came as a fake witness, but forgot what she was supposed to say and started making stuff up! haha. and Spence, the other lawyer, and the judge all started yelling at each other. it's funny, cuz i've been doing jury duty for a couple weeks now, and sometimes u have the feeling that the lawyers really want to yell at each other, but they hold back. every1 is super polite. haha.
anyway, here's a clip from last yr, i think... ellen recording herself backstage and onstage at the People's Choice Awards!! so sweet & funny, what she said when thanking ppl that voted 4 her!!
GO ELLEN!!! ^__^
everyone makes mistakes.
wow, it's really really
strange
how the current Michael Richards getting in trouble for his racist comments controversy reminds me a lot of how Joey Leung got in trouble for secretly dating Queenie incident last yr...also almost around the same time! joey got caught kissing queenie in a car around October 2005. michael just got in trouble on the night of nov. 17.
and 4 both of them, a famous friend of theirs (though hacken is much much closer friends with joey than jerry is with michael. jerry and michael just worked together 9 yrs, but i don't think they keep in contact after the show ended in 1998. but hacken and joey had been close friends for around 15 yrs in 2005) went on a show and helped them out by saying good things about them. and they both apologized on the show (though joey's was by a phone call, and i think that was also a couple days after the incident).
in both cases, there was an event coming up that their bad press could affect. in michael's case, i think the Seinfeld season 7 DVD is going to be sold soon. in joey's case, he was supposed to be one of the hosts for the TVB 38th Anniversary show. but he was still able to host the show. i think being teased and yelled at on that show by the other hosts and in general, all he went through when he was being followed by reporters everywhere....all that stuff...he was punished enough. and now, a year later, no one really remembers the incident anymore, and he has been working for tvb...all is ok again.
i was really mad at joey for cheating on margaret. but seeing how hacken said everyone should give him another chance (just like jerry said about michael), and he really seems sorry about what he did...so i've forgiven him since last yr.
but what michael did was a totally different matter....i feel sorry 4 him, cuz i really don't think he is a racist. from what i know about him, which is not much, but still....he is a very focused performer, and if ppl R doing something that distracts him, he will go CRAZY. and comedians in general curse all the time, so....maybe he was already having a really bad day...
those 2 ppl he cursed at are planning to sue him.
PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES. please give him another chance!

Stranger than Fiction: very FUNNY movie! ....finding things by accident
i watched some of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade today, then spent most of the day cleaning my room. haha.
i really need everything to be organized and clean or i go crazy.
anyway, i found a dye, a dice? what is it called...that a friend gave me from Las Vegas that i thought i had lost. it has the name Dana on it, which is Scully's (from the show X-Files) first name. =)
it really is true, when u stop looking for something, it will suddenly appear!
if only that was true for other things in life, like trying to find a job, love, meaning in your life...

a good reason to have pets
"I think I realized, even at an early age, that the real beauty of pets is that they love you unconditionally. All they would like in return is a bit of attention and some food. And, the food doesn't even have to be that good. It could just come out of a can."

nothing important happened today...THANKSgiving
Thanksgiving is coming soon. for those of u who live in the USA, u R probably thinking of places to go to celebrate your 2 days off....
i think we should also all remember to take a moment to think of all the things we are thankful for.
just now, i can think of several things:
-technology like the internet that allows us to communicate and share with ppl all around the world
-having a roof over my head and food to eat each day.
-having the love and support of my family (well, most of the time. haha.)
-for friends that understand and support you (even when your family doesn't)
(shout-out to Minna!)
-for the stars that make my life brighter and happier: Hacken and Ellen. (pun INTENDED! haha)
-the beauty and simplicity of nature
...more later...

i sometimes have a feeling that i'd like to start a journal.
but many times, i stop writing in it later.
maybe this blog can be different.
random thought:
don't u hate it when u fail an anti-spam test? those codes u have to type in. u get the feeling u have to defend yourself. they assume you're spam from the start.
guilty until proven innocent.

-Get outta here, SPAM scum!!
-[types in correct code.]
-Oh. sorry about that. can't be too careful, u know. Go ahead. Have a nice day!"
